Solid Waste

Welcome to the Public Health Solid Waste program in Island County, Washington.
 
The Public Health Solid Waste program permits and inspects solid waste handling facilities.  In addition, the staff review plans for new or expanding facilities, monitors environmental quality adjacent to solid waste facilities, investigates and resolves solid waste complaints, and responds to a variety of public and private requests for technical assistance.  The Solid Waste program works to ensure the proper collection, storage, transfer, recycling, and disposal of solid waste in Island County.  
 
The Public Works Solid Waste program manages and oversees all Island County owned solid waste handling facilities.  Please contact the Public Works Solid Waste Program at (360) 679-7331 for additional questions.
