Septic 101

Remember, if you  want to become certified to evaluate your own system:  you must complete Septic 101 and Septic 201 and own a Conventional Gravity or Conventional Pump system.  (All other system types require professional evaluation)

The first step in the HOST program is to complete Septic 101.  You can do this in two ways:  View it online or attend a class.  See below.

1.  View it online

This thirty minute video covers the basics of septic systems.  Using desktop speakers are best to hear the narration.  There is an exam at the end of the presentation.  Then you'll be ready to view the Inspection Tutorial Video and attend Septic 201.

If you have any problems, contact us and we will try to get it resolved.  Thanks.

2.  Attend a class

In partnership with WSU Island County Extension, the class is offered at different locations throughout the county and covers the basics of caring and maintaining your system.  ** We require a minimum of 8 registrants at least 3 working days prior to each class or the class will be canceled **
